If you’re anything like me, you have a love/hate relationship with summer. You LOVE summer because it means sunshine, warm weather, outside parties, and fun dresses; but you HATE summer because it means kids are home, you have to wear a bathing suit at the pool, your house is cluttered, and you’re reminded that you never started that yoga program you promised yourself you would.

So how can you get yourself ready for a summer that’s JUICY, FUN, and EXCITING?!

Simple, not easy, but simple. Follow these four key steps and you’ll have yourself so excited for summer that you’ll be the one hosting a WELCOME SUMMER PARTY!!! How fun does that sound?!

Step 1- Check in with your mindset. What are you currently thinking about summer? Does your mind immediately go to thoughts of dread- like running your kids everywhere? kids home means a messy house? or does it go to thinking of the warm breeze on your skin? the feel of soft cotton fabrics? Pick a thought about summer that feels good to you and PRACTICE IT DAILY. I mean it-journal on it, repeat it as a mantra, allow yourself to sit with that thought several times a day until you embody it.

Step 2- Check in with your self-concept. Who are you in the summer? Are you the person that complains about the summer because it’s hot? Are you the mom that is always annoyed that her kids are home? Are you the woman who never gets a chance to relax poolside? OR Are you the woman that wakes up early to get her run in? The friend that hosts backyard parties? The mom that creates a treasure hunt at the beach? Decide who you want to be, and LIVE INTO IT. Create a vision board for the woman who has an AMAZING SUMMER. Use this as an image to live into.

Step 3- Get moving. Find movement you enjoy and do it almost every day. Nothing grows, changes, evolves, elevates from staying stagnant- this includes YOU. If you don’t already have some kind of movement that you love, I suggest walking. Start with 5 minutes a day, and add on 5 minutes each week. Let this time be just for you, throw on your favorite podcast and get moving. The ideas that come to you while you’re on the move are magical, and you’ll just feel f*cking good!

Step 4- Scan your environments. Where do you spend lots of time? In your car? In your bedroom? How do these environments make you feel? Ask yourself what’s missing that would bring you delight. Notice what’s there that’s taking up space or bringing you down. Marie Kondo was really on to something here! Everything in our space has energy- keep what’s good, let go of the bad. DO IT NOW. Those notebooks from college aren’t going to help you, I know you think they are, but you learned everything you needed to learn, so THROW THEM OUT!

I know you got this. I believe in you. I feel that you want to change, and I deeply trust that you will show up as the proud, grateful, fun, and vivacious woman you are.

Think this sounds good but know that you’re someone who thrives on accountability and one-on-one support?
